A. Morin Bolivia Ekeko Milk 48%
This wild cocoa, harvested but not cultivated, reveals notes of caramel, milk and dried fruits.
The cocoa beans come from an association in the Cochabamba region. The cocoa is certified organic and FairWild and is harvested by two indigenous peoples of the Amazon basin, the Yuracaré and the Chimanes. This association was created to address the decrease in resources of these peoples, caused by deforestation, by reevaluating the cocoa harvest.
The Yuracaré and Chimanes travel to wild islands and islets and harvest ripe cocoa pods. They then transport the beans by horse or canoe to the center where they are fermented and dried. The rest of the year, the trees are forgotten and nature takes over.
